About Me
I am a creative individual with a strong passion towards technology, especially in the development of intelligent systems that encourage the improvement of human safety and quality of life. My hunger for problem solving led me to choose Computer Science for my BSc as each problem I faced allowed me to create unique algorithmic solutions and an introduction to Artificial Intelligence allowed me to code algorithms that solved the problems for me via machine learning techniques. The interest and untapped potential in this field led me to pursue an MSc in Artificial Intelligence. I possess excellent communication skills developed from previous experiences involving group projects and extracurricular activities. My aim is to find a platform that allows me to continuously challenge and develop my intellect so I can create and contribute to improve the future.
Experience
Computer Games and PC building: (2010- 2014):
In the past I started to gain an interest in programming when learning to program in Pascal, Visual Basic and Java. I wrote programs of different complexity, including recreating the classic board game Wari, a text based version of Minesweeper, and designing and creating my own strategy game, similar to the online game ‘Clicking Bad’. I also created a game similar to ‘Flappy bird’ which involved movement of objects and collision detection. I enjoyed each program I coded, as for each problem I created a unique solution, and this gave me a great deal of confidence to do more.
At a young age I taught myself about the internals of a computer and familiarised myself with all the hardware and software components that make up a PC. I then bought some parts and built my own computer, installing all of the necessary drivers and other software. I really enjoyed building a PC so I taught myself basic HTML and created a website for beginner’s with a guide of how to build their own.
Web Programming: (2014 – present):
I have created multiple websites and currently maintain a website for a local charity organisation (which includes; log in capabilities, a blogging system and integration with Facebook’s API) which I designed from scratch using HTML, CSS and PHP. Similarly I made a website for an electrical engineering company based in London and am currently in charge of their site maintenance.(Check my Web Portfolio at the bottom of this page).
Vehicle management system (2015):
Through the use of GUI and software engineering skills I worked as part of a team to develop a vehicle management system for a mechanic workshop using Java, Java FX and GitHub. I gained insight in a work like environment to undergo the entire product life cycle process whilst working in a well-functioning team of individuals and managed to overcome conflicts of interests amongst team members by negotiating, debating and demonstrating system enhancements.
Search Engine development for Big Data Processing (2017):
As the group leader for this project I managed a team of programmers to create a search engine for big data processing using Apache Hadoop with the implementation of my own page ranking algorithm which was uniquely designed from scratch through extensive research involving the use of HTML element tags, priority assignment and keyword density manipulation . The goal of this project was to compete with Wikipedia’s search engine and it resulted in a huge success as my algorithm received highly positive feedback and provided improved test results.
Social Networking Application: (2017- 2018):
I built my own social networking platform from scratch for a job employment application on IOS which included features such as: a friend request system, an intelligent search function, a unique job management system, a user location tracking system with the integration of a Google API and a Distance Matrix API was integrated to calculate distances and durations between users. A cloud hosted JSON tree was used to store, retrieve and manage data. This project was accomplished using: a large number of self-taught skills, invention of my own algorithms and extensive research.
Experience in hardware and electronics include;
controlling digital audio through the use of frequency modulation, creating traffic light like systems using LED’s and controlling the speed and rotation of a stepper motor through the use of C code, electrical components, breadboards and a microcontroller.
